Stage 2 of the Redlands Bicycle Classic brought another exciting day of racing — and marked the official start of the highly anticipated Climber’s Jersey competition. With riders now battling for every elevation gain, the stakes couldn’t be higher. The coveted red jersey will be awarded to the rider with the most cumulative CLIMBER points, but only those who complete all stages within the time limit will remain in contention.
This stage featured a grueling 77-mile summit finish to Onyx Summit, perched over 8,000 feet above sea level. It was a true test of strength, endurance, and strategy — and Luke Elphinston of Kelly Benefits Strategies Cycling delivered an incredible performance, earning a well-deserved spot on the Stage 2 podium.
As the race progresses, the battle for the red jersey is only just beginning. With multiple climbing stages still to come, our team is staying focused, fueled, and ready for the challenges ahead. Stay tuned for more updates from Redlands and beyond — and thanks for cheering on Kelly Benefits Strategies Cycling!
